It seems that Rubens Barrichello has inspired his Brawn GP team as they look to keep it together and hold onto the momentum as they begin the Belgian Grand Prix. The Red Bull team will be looking to bounce back from a terrible performance at the European Grand prix that allowed Barrichello to move into second place in the overall standings. He sits just 18 points behind his teammate Jenson Button with Mark Webber of Red Bull sitting 3rd place 20.5 points behind.
F1 experts are stating that the conditions will surely benefit the Red Bull team as they are taking into consideration the cool conditions and the hilly track on which the race takes place. This will be the longest race of the season seeing as the Spa track is just over 7 kilometers long.
This has been an exciting F1 championship so far this year as there are a number of battles for positions all over the leaderboard as teams fight for the smallest of margin each race. It is going to be a very important day for the Brawn team as they have to hold off Red Bull and hope that they have resolved all of their early season issues with tires that were underperforming. Last weekend was a good start but just the beginning if they want to hold off Red Bull until the end of the season.
In other news Webber managed to finish in 9th place during the street circuit in Valencia while teammate Sebastian Vettel had to finish his day early thanks to engine failure. With only 6 races left it gave Webber a big lead over Vettel while the young driver is only left with two engines over the course of the last six races of the season.
