Brawn GP and Rubens Barichello in Top Form at Italy

Jenson Button The Italian Grand Prix is over, and it was quite an exciting race, no less than anyone expected. Brawn GP was certainly the team that was beaming when it was all over as Rubens Barichello took top podium position, while teammate Jenson Button was runner up. This brought the team quite a bit closer to the World Championship titles The last lap was probably the most exciting as Lewis Hamilton with McLaren fought to move from his third place position to take over from Button or better yet Barrichello.

Hamilton had led from the beginning, with a McLaren that was light on fuel, which allowed him to pass Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil. While he was making his move, teammates Barrichello and Button moved into fourth and fifth place respectively. He stayed at the top of the list, until his very first top for fuel on the 15th lap. Followed by Sutil on the seventeenth and Rakkonen on his nineteenth lap. This allowed the two Brawn GP teammates to lead in the one-two position they ended with, lasting until their pits at 28th for Jensen Button and Rubens Barichello.

Lewis Hamilton made his final stop on lap thirty four and ended up behind the two Brawn GP drivers. He tried hard to get further in, being just over four seconds behind the leader and less than a second behind Button. Then Hamilton hit the inner wall and spread twisted metal and debris.

Next on the schedule will be the Singapore Grand Prix, held September 25th through the 27th. Renault driver Fernando Alonso took the win last year in this race and we all all know that exciting things can happen in any Formula One race.
