Felipe Massa says that he is confident that his comeback is 2011 will be a strong one after a basic no-show in 2010. Fernando Alonso, Massa's teammate, won five Grand Prix races last year, but Felipe Massa didn't get a single race. He finished the year 112 points behind Alonso in the standings. He blamed at least part of his difficulties on the tires, saying that he wasn't comfortable with them last season, and the front ones in particular. He said that he wasn't able to adapt to the new tires which had marked differences from the 2009 ones.
Team Ferrari's Felipe Massa was under fire by both his team and the fans of Formula One Racing for his performance last season, but according to him he always had the will to win and still does. Massa did say that Alonso was a better driver for the 2010 vehicles which he didn't like. He said in a statement that Fernando was better than him, but that he knows what his potential is, and he knows that his team believes in him. He said that he is used to having strong teammates like Michael Shumacher and Kimi Raikkonen, but he'd never been in the position of not liking th ecar.
However, now Massa has a new start with the beginning of the 2011 season of Formula One, and one of the changes taking place is a new tire supplier, which means that he and Alonso start out even which means that Massa knows what he has to do. He said that his goal is simple. Win races and make a run for the title. He said he has nothing else in his mind except for taking the crown. The press has made insinuations that this will be Massa's last chance and if he fails to make a showing Ferrari might find another driver to take his place. However, Massa said that his belief in himself is strong enough to make it happen.
