The Korean Grand Prix is the third from the last race of the year for the Formula One Championship with only Brazil and Abu Dhabi still to go and Fernando Alonso with Ferrari says that that he will be going on the attack in the race so that Mark Webber does not get even further ahead in the Driver's Championship of the series. Alonso is just fourteen points behind Webber after taking third place at Suzuka in the last Formula One Championship race. However, the Korean Grand Prix, which is in its inaugural year, may decide the championship.
Alonso did admit that Ferrari would not have much of a chance in Japan of beating Red Bull, and said that they would have to go on the attack to close the gap between him and Webber. Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, with Mclaren, were pretty much out of the championship after Suzuka but there is still a chance. Webber admits that no one should be ruled out but says that they should be focused on making sure Webber doesn't get any further ahead then he already is, and team mate Felipe Massa could be an integral part of that.
The Korean Grand Prix is when things start being set in stone and will be interesting to watch because up until now, the drivers have only competed on a computer-generated version of the track, as the circuit just received FIA sanctioning last week. However, they do have practice sessions on Friday so that they can become familiar with the track and racing on the simulator at least gives an idea of the width of the track and the length of the straights. The Korean Grand Prix will take place in Yeongam, October 22nd through the 24th.
