Mark Webber, who currently leads the Formula One Championship, said recently that he Needs Another race this season if he wants to take the Formula One Championship when the next three races that make up the rest of the calendar are over. Webber is further in the lead now after his victory in Suzuka, but has not won a Grand Prix race since August when he took the Hungarian Grand Prix. If he can win another race and take the Formula One Championship for 2010, it will be the first time he has ever won an F1 Championship.
Webber was quoted as saying “I need to win again in the future.” He finished second place to Sebastian Vettel for Red Bull Racing at the Japanese Grand Prix. He said that he is confident that he can however. Recently, there has been some highly charged competition between Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, especially in the past few races. However, Mark Webber has been on the podium during the last five races of the season and the problems that Lewis Hamilton has been facing have helped as well. He is now 14 points ahead.
Two weeks ago, Lewis Hamilton was the top contender for Webber's place, and now it is Fernando Alonso, but things are always changing in the last few races. The important thing to remember is that we still have three races to go in the Formula One Championship, with Korea coming up next, October 22nd through the 24th – the first race ever for this circuit and impossible to predict, as well as the Brazilian Grand Prix and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and there are still seventy five points to be earned in these three races.
