Mark Webber may be 34 years old, a shoo-in for retirement in the racing world, says that he wants to stick it out with Red Bull in the Formula One Championship. He lost last season to Sebastian Vettel, not only his teammate but the youngest every driver to take the title at the age of twenty three, but was able to take third place. Fernando Alonso took the second place spot in the championship standings. Last season, there were reports of confrontations between Webber and his younger teammate and some thought that he was given a lower status because of his age.
Apparantly, all that has been worked out, but we have yet to have to first race, so who knows what will happen once the racing begins. It cis quite easy to stay cool during the beginning of the season, but may be different once energy and emotion get going during the season. Mark Webber is usually calm and cool, but was noticeably different last season with what he perceived to be a bias against him. One reason for it may have been comments like the one made by team owner Dietrich Mateschitz last year saying that Mark was ever bit as good of driver as Vettel but both are warriors who can win the war.
There has been a great deal of speculation in the media and by Formula One experts that this season will be the last for Webber, but according to the Red Bull driver, he has plenty of drive left. He said that he wants to continue as any other driver would, racing out front and hanging with the other guys every week. He said that he is not ready to quit and he believes that when he does finish racing, he will do so with Red Bull. Webber won one, and took runner up status in 2010, not the racing of a driver who is on the brink of retirement.
