Three Teams Accepted For F1 2010

Nick WirthThe FIA opened applications for the 2010 Formula One World Championship and has so far accepted three teams, Campos Grand Prix, Manor F1 Team, and Team US F1. The application process was difficult, with teams needed to prove resources, level of funding, experience and technical expertise to compete at this level of racing. More teams may come, but so far these are the three that will for sure be competing next year.

Campos Grand Prix is a company from Spain that was started in 1998. The company was began by ex-F1 driver Adrian Campos, and has competed in championships such as GP2 and Euro F3. In those competitions the team has won six driver championships and five team. They also have the GP2 Series title from 2008. Campos will be partnering with Cosworth for engine supply, and also has technical partnerships with Xtrac and Dallara Automobili

Manor F1 began racing in 1990, established by single-seater Champion John Booth. They have an incredible 171 race wins under their belt, and a total of 19 Championship Titles. The team is headquartered in the UK, in Sheffield and in Bicester, and have Nick Wirth, of Wirth Research Limited as their technical director, who was the founder and owner of Simtek and also moved on the become chief designer for Benetton F1 until 1999. Manor has also partnered with Cosworth for engine supply.

Team US F1 is new, but the people behind it aren't. The team principal is Ken Anderson who has over thirty years of experience in motorsports, including designing and constructing various IndyCar and Indy 500 race cars. He was technical director for Ligier and Onyx. Peter Windsor is also on the team, with more then 35 years of experience in various fields such as journalism, team management and consulting. Team US F1 will also be partnering with Cosworth.
