The Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix will be held at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang Malaysia. This race has been part of the formula one racing calendar since 1999. At one point it was speculated that the circuit would host the 2nd ever night race in formula history but in the end it was decided to just hold this coming 2009 Malaysia Petronas GP live at a late afternoon time. The Circuit at Sepang is is a 56 lap race with a circuit length of 5.543 km or 3.444 miles. The driver with the most wins is John McDonald of Hong Kong, while Ferrari have won the most races for a constructor with 5 wins overall. Watch Ferrari live all season atwww.liveracingonline.com.
The 2008 Malaysian Grand Prix formula one saw Finland's Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari take first place while Poland's Robert Kubica of BMW Sauber placed second and Finland's Heikki Kovalainen of McLaren-Mercedes finished in 3rd place. Ferrari's Brazilian Felipe Massa had won the pole position to no avail, while German born Nick Heidfeld of BMW Sauber set the time for the fastest lap. It was Raikkonen's second win as he had won back in 2003 as well. You can watch Kimi Raikkonen live all season long when you sign up for f1 live internet streaming at www.liveracingonline.com.
The 2009 f1 racing season is just a few weeks old and after one race it is clear that this is set to be a season like no other. Among the rule changes that were introduced was the inclusion of new slick tyres which had been banned from live formula one racing back in 1998. This year Bridgestone will supply tyres with drivers using both compounds of tyres during races. Unlike the white markings in the tyre grooves from 2008, this season the tyres will be differentiated by green markings on the sides. Another change involves the fact that drivers will be able to adjust the flaps in their front wings. This rules is referred to as driver adjustable bodywork. Each driver will be allowed to make two adjustments each lap, up to 6 degrees.

However, the biggest rule change will involve the all new aerodynamic regulations which have completely changed the way cars look as the front wings are lower and wider and the rear wings are higher and narrower.
The 2009 formula one campaign got off to an interesting start in Australia for a variety of reasons. The ING Australian Grand Prix was without question a memorable one as for the first time in 55 years, the constructor that won the pole position would also win the race as Jenson Button of Brawn GP would finish in first place. It was a superb afternoon for Brawn GP all the way around as Button's fellow driver, the Brazilian Rubens Barrichello, was able to overcome a tough start to take 2nd place with the 2008 overall formula one champion Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes finishing in 3rd place. What made Brawn GP's top two finishes even more impressive was the fact that this was their first ever race. Of the 20 cars that started the race, only 13 would finish. Germany's Timo Glock of Toyota, Spain's Fernando Alonso of Renault, Germany's Nico Rosberg of Williams-Toyota, Switzerland's Sebastien Buemi of Toro Rosso-Ferrari and Frances Sebastien Bourdais also of Toro Rosso-Ferrari rounded out the points winners on the day.
It was a terrible first race for both Ferraris' as Kimi Raikkonen was forced to drop out after a differential problem just 3 laps from the finish while Felipe Massa of Brazil left after 45 laps due to suspension problems. There was also a collision two laps from the end which saw Sebastian Vettel of Germany involved with Poland's Robert Kubica of BMW Sauber. That collision, so close to the finish line, caused this 2009 Australian Grand Prix to be the first race since 1999 to finish under safety car conditions. Of note, many drivers had expressed concerns prior to the start of the season that the new shape of the cars would be conducive to more collisions and that is exactly what took place. At the start of the race several of the cars of banged in to each other and were forced to pit after just 1 lap due to damage.

Such a promising start to the 2009 formula 1 year bodes well for the rest of the season.
