The Suzuki MotoGP team is based in Verwood, England.

It was back in the year 1974 that the Rizla Suzuki MotoGp team came into the field of MotoGP World Championship and it was with the riders Barry Sheene and Jack Findlay that they started the competition back then. It was in the very opening round of the season that year that Sheene finished in the second position and in the next year he brought in the first win for the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team and finished the season in the 6th position. In both 1976 and 1977 Sheene won the rider’s championship.

During the three year period between 1984 and 1987 the Rizla Suzuki MotoGp team had withdrawn their work support and therefore was away from the MotoGp championship and they made a full return in 1988. It was again in the year 1993 that the team’s the then rider Kevin Schwantz won another title of the World Championship for the team. In 1998 the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team came up with an all Japanese riders line-up with Nobuatsu Aoki and Katsuaki Fujiwara but it was, however, only Aoki who was able to participate in the various races as Fujiwara was faced with an accident during the pre-season tests. The team finished in the second position in 1999.
Year 2002 saw the debut of the new MotoGp class and the first win in this new class was brought it by team mate Chris Vermeulen in the year 2007. For the present season the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team has got Chris Vermeulen who is joined by Loris Capirossi in the rider’s line-up and right now the two riders are in the 8th and 10th positions respectively. Team mate Ben Spiesusa is in the 19th position.
